Air purification process
Most Blueair products use a three stage filtration process which involves a washable pre-filter, air purification and then a carbon filter air cleaning process. The steps of the process are outlined below:
3 stage filtration process
Stage 1
Starts with a colorful, washable pre-filter which captures larger particles like dust and pet hair.
Stage 2
The air then passes through both a particle filter which catches virtually every airborne contaminant including: pollen, dust, pet dander, mold spores, smoke, allergens and bacteria.
Stage 3
Finally, the air passes through an activated carbon filter to get rid of everyday smells such as food and pet odors naturally, without harsh chemicals that mask odors.
Top Blueair air purifier product
We have chosen the Blue Pure 211+ as the top product from Blueair, as it boasts impressive low energy usage at 60 watts on the highest fan speed and has been rated low energy consumption (30-60 W) by Energy Star.
The Blue Pure 211+ can change the air in a room up 540 sq. ft. five times an hour and features a whisper silent fan noise level and 3 fan speeds.
The Blue Pure 211+ is a great candidate for larger rooms and can be left running for long periods without having to worry about high energy bills.
Depending on the purifier being used, replacement filters from Blueair cost around $50 which is more expensive than some brands like Levoit, but as mentioned costs will depend on the type of purifier being used, it’s power and room size capability.
